My Cooking - Steak with Potato Gratin aka Scalloped Potatoes and Mixed Vegetables
Today being adventurous, I did my 1st attempt at making Potato Gratin aka Scalloped Potato, I think I probably added a little too much milk but it turned out really good. I peeled the skin of the potatoes then sliced and boiled them till tender and laid them in a small baking tray. For the mixture, bring the milk, shredded cheese, chopped onions and seasonings mixture to boil and pour over the potatoes before putting in the oven to bake for about 30 mins (shorter time needed since the potatoes were already cooked). When done, take the tray out and spread more shredded cheese over the top, bake for another 5 minutes till the cheese melts and is ready to be served.
I served the potato gratin with steak and mixed vegetables which made the hubby super duper happy since we haven't had steak for awhile. He tried the potato gratin and said it tasted really good, I am glad he enjoyed dinner.

My Cooking - Beef with Potato
Still feeling kinda icky
, I wasn't really in the mood to do any cooking but then again I didn't want any takeout so I whipped up
a new dish which consisted of sliced beef and potatos, not forgetting lots of chopped garlic and onion. Instead of using the usual oyster sauce & soy sauce, I used the Goya Adobo, Goya Sazon and lots of pepper. Wasn't sure if the family was going to like it, however after seeing them go for one helping after another, I can tell they enjoyed the dish and this is what the hubby said "Well, it's different and it is so good."

My Cooking - Chicken Stew

Ok, I am kiasu or more likely being boh liao, it's just past lunch time and I already have dinner made for tonight. All I had to do was throw everything e.g. chicken, potatos, onions, carrots and peas together, slow cooked on the stovetop to make a simple and hearty chicken stew. Will make the white rice later so now I can just chill out and relax, later just heat up lor.

My Cooking - Chinese Sunday Dinner
Isn't it great that whenever you cook something and they turn out good, feels like a big achievement right! ... ha ha, unfortunately I don't have proper recipes for my cooking, always based on estimations so the tastes are never consistent ... hee hee, anyway who cares when they turn out delicious ... heh heh.
For lunch, I made petai with shrimps and anchovies using my mom's homemade chilli and it was soooooooooo good eventhough my mouth was 'burning' from the spicyness. Can't wait to go to Chinatown again to get more petais.
Spicy Petai with Shrimp & Anchovies

For sunday dinner, I made hubby's favourtie dish of cucumber (sometimes onions) with shrimp in tomato sauce, a new experimantal dish of stir fry thin-sliced potato with chicken and spring onions which the hubby told me tasted good and simple stir fry vegetables.

This dish was inspired by Wennn's Potatos Day, I made it my own way though ... lol.
Cucumber with Shrimps in Tomato Sauce

This is definitely the hubby's all-time favourite. Hmm ... I overcooked the shrimps but he enjoyed it so much that he didn't noticed ... hee hee.
