NYC - Pistahan Filipino Restaurant

Lunch at Pistahan, a Filipino restaurant at downtown Manhattan was pleasant and enjoyable. It is situated in a nice and quiet neighborhood (at least it was quiet when we were there ... haha). The restaurant is small but very cosy and clean. They have very friendly staff and great service. Most of all the food was delicious, I'd definitely go back again.

We had white rice with the following 2 dishes:

Inihaw Na Tilapia Sa Dahon Ng Saging
- Whole Tilapia grilled in banana leaves served w/ lemon and soy sauce

Tokwa'at Baboy
- Chopped lechon (roasted pork) and deep fried tofu in vinegar served w/ onions.

They also had a showcase of desserts which looked interesting.

Cassava cake is grated cassava, mixed with egg, sugar and coconut milk.

Leche Flan
- A custard made with a thin layer of caramelized sugar and delicately flavored with grated dayap rind.
